چکیده

Copper bromide complexes with the ligands TMG6NO2qu, TMG6Brqu, TMG6Methoxyqu, TMG6NMe2qu, TMG6EHOqu and TMG6dBAqu were examined regarding their activity in atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). The inspired by 1,1,3,3-tetramethyl-2-(quinolin-8-yl)guanidine (TMGqu) substituents have been chosen a large range between electron withdrawing donating abilities. donor properties of can be strongly influenced further highly active catalysts based on these systems obtained. strong moieties addition modified alkyl groups to increase solubility apolar monomers like styrene. CuI CuII crystallised structural data correlated different catalyst activity. electrochemical potentials E1/2, equilibrium constants KATRP rate kact kdeact determined. Polymerizations styrene conducted solution whereas shows good performance bulk.

New Guanidine-Pyridine Copper Complexes and Their Application in ATRP

The guanidine hybrid ligands, (tetramethylguanidine)methylenepyridine (TMGpy) and (dimethylethyleneguanidine)methylenepyridine (DMEGpy), were proven to be able to stabilize copper complexes active in the solvent-free polymerization of styrene at 110 °C using 1-phenylethylbromide as the initiator. The polymerization proceeded after first-order kinetics, and polystyrenes with polydispersities aro...

The synthesis of indolo[2,3-b]quinoline derivatives with a guanidine group: highly selective cytotoxic agents.

The synthesis of indolo[2,3-b]quinoline derivatives containing guanidine, amino acid or guanylamino acid substituents as well as their in vitro evaluation for the cytotoxic and antifungal activity are reported. The influence of the guanidine group on the selective cytotoxic and hemolytic properties of indolo[2,3-b]quinoline was investigated. Most of the compounds displayed a high cytotoxic acti...

Geometrical and optical benchmarking of copper guanidine-quinoline complexes: Insights from TD-DFT and many-body perturbation theory†

We report a comprehensive computational benchmarking of the structural and optical properties of a bis(chelate) copper(I) guanidine-quinoline complex. Using various (TD-)DFT flavors a strong influence of the basis set is found. Moreover, the amount of exact exchange shifts metal-to-ligand bands by 1 eV through the absorption spectrum. The BP86/6-311G(d) and B3LYP/def2-TZVP functional/basis set ...

Exploring the Solution Structures of Heme-Quinoline Complexes and their Relation to Antimalarial Activity

During their pathogenic blood stage, malaria parasites invade host erythrocytes where they digest hemoglobin. In the process, they release large quantities of potentially toxic hematin, which they convert to hemozoin. This is an insoluble microcrystalline product. The quinoline antimalarials, such as chloroquine form complexes with hematin and inhibit the formation of synthetic hemozoin (β-hema...
